Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar Recipes

Brown sugar is a pantry staple made with sugar and molasses, giving it a soft texture, warm caramel flavor, and subtle moisture that works especially well in baked goods. Use it in cookies, muffins, quick breads, cakes, crumbles, and glazes when you want deeper sweetness than white sugar. It is also excellent in barbecue sauce, marinades, baked beans, stir-fry sauces, and roasted vegetables. Light brown sugar has a milder molasses flavor, while dark brown sugar tastes richer and more robust. In many recipes they can be swapped, but dark brown sugar will add more color, moisture, and caramel-like depth.
